The word
Ehime
is broken up into two kanji. The first kanji
means "love" and the second means "princess." Until
the Meiji Restoration, Ehime was referred to as Iyo
Province. Ehime is famous for the "mikan" or mandarian
orange. Around winter time, you will see boxes and boxes of
these delicious fruits everywhere. Some of you might even
be lucky enough to receive them for free from your local
obachans. :)
The Love Princess
Ehime itself, is divided into 5 regions.
