Affectionately called the "true" inaka; Ainan is the southernmost tip of Ehime. It covers a rather large area and is actually home to a number of small and moutaing and fishing villages. Though transportation is hard to come by, the natural beauty more than makes up for it.
Kihoku is east of Uwajima, and north of Matsuno. It is another area that is actually a large collection of separate townships.
The sleepy town of Matsuno-cho lies south of Kihoku. It is famous primarily for its beautiful Nametoko Gorge and nature.
Uwajima is the hub of sothern Ehime and is one of the largest cities in Ehime.
